In 1968 Salvatore Cumbo our chairman, established Salvo in a small North London delicatessen. Salvatore worked passionately to bring the best Meditteranean products to London's Italian eateries.
With a rapidly growing clientele, soon more hands were required and Salvatore's two brothers Giuseppe and Calogero, son-in-law Domenico and daughters Giuseppina and Teresa joined the business. Inevitably more sophisticated warehouse and management facilities were necessary, so in 1975 Salvo moved to larger premises in the Caledonian Road.
The Cumbo family continues to own and manage Salvo. Our culinary zest and customer-focused ethics are the inspiration for continuous product evaluation and refinement of logistics and other operations. We are committed to remain at the forefront of a fiercely competitive market.
